“Science is the key to our future, and if you don’t believe in science, then you’re holding everybody back.” – Bill Nye

The world has already transformed into an innovation-led economy whereas there have been no breakthrough reforms in India’s S&T sector post-independence. Potentially, India can repeat the magic of economic reforms of the early nineties in S&T if it can reform the sector big time. India must nurture the ambition to be at the forefront of research for creation of new S&T knowledge and its translation to economic and social goods; and enable sustained economic growth. India has the economic scale, large talent pool, huge market size and a vibrant start-up ecosystem to invest in research and translate it to unlock economic value.
