R Chandra, Secretary FORTESS and chief mentor – FORTESS Education, has been championing the cause of taking Digital literacy to his alma mater, the Govt Higher Secondary School in Sirkali. Last year, a Digital classroom was set up with computers, Network and printers. Due to COVID, the school remained shut and the laboratory was not put to much use. We are happy to share that now with the schools opening up, our efforts are seeing the light of the day.
This has only been possible with the collaborative efforts of various FORTESS members who are doing exemplary work in the field of Education. Chandra has been working with V Muralidharan, founder of Sevalaya and Hema Gopal, an advisor with Kalvi 40, a part of BumbleBee Trust, to further provide better facilities to the students of SMHHS.
Below are pictures from the online classes in progress at SMHHS, with a teacher from Sevalaya handling the class. Three such Digital classrooms have been set up in the school.
